Effects of Moxibustion at the Meridian Points BL 15 and BL 27 on the Blood Pressure in Spontaneously Hypertensive Rats

Abstract
|
|
|
The aim of this experiments was to elucidate the effects of moxibustion at the meridian points BL 15 and BL 27 on the arterial blood pressure, plasma renin activity, aldosterone and atrial natriuretic peptide concentration.
The results obtained were as follows:
1. Plasma renin activity and plasma levels of aldosterone were increased significantly after moxibustion at the meridian points BL 15.
2. Systolic blood pressure was decreased significantly after moxibustion at the meridian points BL 15.
3. Plasma atrial natriuretic peptide was decreased significantly after moxibustion at the meridian points BL 15.
4. Plasma levels of aldosterone was increased significantly after moxibustion at the meridian points BL 27.
5. Plasma atrial natriuretic peptide was increased significantly after moxibustion at the meridian.
